Eating Healthy on a Budget Using Bulk Foods and Private Label Products

                                                                         Thursday, March 4

Learn ways to prepare meals using foods from the Bulk Foods department and private label products (such as Thriftway’s Natural Directions label).  Chef Kari Bell loves to talk about food to customers so bring your questions about bulk foods and frugal cooking and shopping!

Tour of Island Springs Tofu                                   Thursday, March 4

Get a behind-the-scenes look at our own tofu factory during production hours.  Owner Luke Lukoskie shows you how the organic tofu is made, from the silo to the delivery truck, using ancient Eastern techniques.

Tours are at 10:00, 10:30, and 11:00 am and
are limited to 15 people per tour.

Please wear close-toed, non-skid shoes.

Minimum age: 7 years (Parents should supervise children closely.)

Meet at the tofu factory 10 minutes before tour time:
18846 103rd Avenue Southwest

Directions: From the 4-way stop in town, go south .8 mile to 188th Street. Turn right (west). Go to 103rd Avenue SW. and turn left. Turn left again in the first driveway. The “Bone Factory” will be on your left and the Sheffield Building and Warehouse will be on your right. Drive between those two buildings and turn right. Island Spring is located behind the Sheffield Building.
