Vashon Island’s Second Annual

*The Food Preservation Fair is a project of Vision for Vashon’s Food Security Working Group. Monthly meetings plan projects to help Vashon Islanders become more self-sufficient in food production. Upcoming classes teach food processing (cooking classes, and farm animal and game processing), gardening, chicken-raising. We also sponsor a food-preservation lending library and seed exchange.

Our Second Annual Food Preservation Fair was a great success! Over 200 visitors dropped by our demonstration tables to learn about many ways to preserve food for winter.

We wish to thank Vashon Island Growers Assoc., East-West Produce, Merrilee Runyan, and our incredibly talented presenters and volunteers. A special thanks goes to Vashon Physical Therapy, who allowed us to use their parking lot for the Fair.

If you missed the fair, we have posted the Resource Sheet here.

Hope to see you next year!
